Speedy Ortiz

One of Carpark Records’ marquee acts, Speedy Ortiz, released their album ‘Twerp Verse’ to critical acclaim and great fanfare the same week as National Record Store Day. The album explores the deep sucky-ness of the current political climate and challenges the listener to lean into difficult emotions to find empathy.
Good Blood used the theme of being fully submerged in tough feelings and some visual quotations from the band’s Lean In When I Suffer’ video to create an immersive installation at the country’s biggest record store, Rough Trade in Brooklyn, for the album signing party and heavy traffic sale day. The room generated content for everyone involved (the band/their record company/the shop and all the record store geeks that work and shop there) and got LIKE LIKE LIKED and # all over the IG.
